Marc Irwin is a pianist, composer, arranger, and recording artist of classical, jazz, musical theater, and world music. Marc holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Composition from The Peabody Institute, Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Irwin composed scores for Twelfth Night, A Comedy Of Errors, The Glass Menagerie and Treasure Island for the Classic Theatre of Maryland as well as for Art, and The Normal Heart for The Vagabond Players in Baltimore. Dr. Irwin's modern classical music oeuvre includes a symphonic work, a chamber work for string and wind nonet, a woodwind quintet, a woodwind quartet, two string quartets, a fantasy for clarinet and piano, a piano trio, a work for alto saxophone and four percussion, and a theme and variations for brass sextet. Dr. Irwin has composed dozens of jazz compositions and 30+ arrangements for children's choruses performed regularly by the Peabody Children's Chorus. Dr. Irwin Irwin has released eleven albums of original compositions and arrangements, has played or conducted on Broadway for 15+ years and was Assistant Conductor and a pianist at the Kennedy Center 10+ years. He was a pianist with The Capitol Steps for 20+ years, Harry Belafonte for five years, Letta Mbulu, Dianne Reeves, Stephanie Mills, Faith Prince, Larry Storch, Scott Bakula, Alison Fraser and Cantor Paul Zim. Currently, Marc Irwin curates concerts for the Musicians Club of New York and The Baltimore Hebrew Congregation's Music and Meaning concert series, where he is Music Director, heads a NYC based quintet, MIQ, and is a freelance pianist/conductor/arranger.
